Nina Leo found her calling when she got gifted an acoustic guitar at age 12. Growing up in Australia's capital city Ngambri/Canberra, Nina Leo is a melting pot of classic rock and indie folk with inspirations; Suzi Quatro, Alice Phoebe Lou, Stevie Nicks, Carole King, Angie McMahon, Blondie and many more.
In 2021, Nina released polar-opposite ‘Recover’ and ‘Break The Renegade’. Introducing herself as a versatile artist by colliding both her genre muses. The first two singles were a sneak peak of the anticipated independently Debut EP ‘Fake It’ that was released later that year. A local favourite amongst touring artists, Nina grew her audience by supporting larger local and interstate bands such as Carla Geneve, Moaning Lisa, DUST, The Terrys and Bones and Jones, leading to her selection for funding by ArtsACT through the Arts Activities Grant Funding in 2023. This major support from the Canberra arts scene helped rewire the dedication and motivation for her musical aspirations to a higher level and fund the production of music recordings.
Fast forward to 2024 and now calling Naarm/Melbourne home, Nina Leo is excited to be entering the next phase of her musical journey with the release of her first new music for 2024. This new era defines the sound of Nina Leo and invites you to delve into her devoted world of female rock ‘n’ roll.
